Why safeguarding matters here
Some listed activities may involve children, young people, or adults who need extra protection. For that reason, community group listings must include a safeguarding acknowledgement before publication.
What listing owners confirm
- there is an appropriate safeguarding contact or process for the activity being listed,
- the details shown publicly are accurate to the best of their knowledge, and
- they understand the listing may be held back if the safeguarding information is unclear.
What moderation does and does not do
Moderation checks whether a safeguarding acknowledgement is present and whether the listing is suitable for public publication. It does not replace the organiser's own legal or operational safeguarding responsibilities.
